For many people, the most anticipated celebratory event each October is the firework display. And this year there will be not just one, but two firework shows for the National Day, held in Taipei and Penghu respectively. This marks the first time for Double Tenth pyrotechnics to light up the sky of Taiwan's offshore islands.

Amazing ring-shaped fireworks will continue to dazzle the audience.

As the Double Ten National Holiday will be celebrated in Penghu this year, the Penghu County government has been taking advantage of the recent county sports event to rehearse a fireworks show.

Fireworks in all shapes and sizes soared through the air, one higher than the other.

The display of vividly colored fireworks will be sure to please the audience this year.

Unlike the Penghu Fireworks Festival which is traditionally held at the Rainbow Bridge, the Double Ten Day fireworks display will be shown at the Penghu County Stadium.

With no metropolitan skyscrapers to block out the sky, spectators will get a full view of the fireworks.

Originally only around 600 units of fireworks were set to go off for the 30 minute show, but the county government decided to up the number to 10,000 units.

Currently, workers are buffering fire safety facilities around the area of the Penghu fireworks event.

Meanwhile, at the other antipode of Taiwan by the Taipei Danshui River, spectators can expect to have their minds blown by a Double Ten day fireworks show with over 50,000 units of fireworks.
