Single Dads Face More Challenges
With the Father's Day approaching, a group of single dads discuss what it's like raising children on their own. The single dads admit that they are under the pressure of performing well at work and home, while failing to receive any support from the society.
As the divorce rate continues climbing, so does the number of single-parent homes. In 50% of such cases, fathers are given primary custody of their children.
Mr. Fu has been divorced for seven years and is single-handedly raising his three children. For a period of time, his children had nowhere to go after school and he had to go pick them up at Internet cafes after work.
He found the situation extremely distressing, but lacked the financial resources to come up with a better solution.
On the eve of Father's Day, a group of single fathers called on the government to provide more welfare programs and free supplementary classes for their children.
The men say that they need room to breathe, and that they are desperately in need of assistance.
