Learn Before You Dive
A mandatory swimming course is now in session to prevent drowning accidents in the popular snorkeling spot at the Keelung's Longdong area.
Children now must attend this water safety class before they are allowed to go into the sea.
When most people arrive at the Longdong area in Keelung, they are immediately drawn to the water. However, safety precautions require elementary and junior high school students to attend a mandatory 1.5-hour-long swimming course prior to venturing into the water.
In this class, children first practice in the swimming pool as a professional coach instructs them on diving and snorkeling. At the end of the lesson, they move into the sea, where they can admire the numerous types of marine organisms and sea plants that flow along the current.
By completing this program, children will be able to swim and snorkel in a safe and correct manner.
