In support of a green environment, a group of Taipei County principals are joining the Life Force Army on this year's bicycle tour. The educators, averaging about 50 years old, are treating this venture as their summer challenge.

Twenty-six principals of elementary and junior high schools in Taipei County are taking a break from academics and gearing up for an intensive island-wide biking trip instead.

The team of middle-aged school officials, founded in May 2008, is embarking on the bicycle tour for a second year in order to raise awareness for a better environment. This year, the crew has attracted 10 additional participants. Over the course of nine days, the bikers will cover 866 kilometers as they travel along Taipei's rivers, Danshui and Sanxia, and also to locations such as Pingsi and Jinguashi.

The principals are fully prepared for this hot and rigorous trip, with many saying that they would like to accomplish this mission while they are still physically capable.
