July New Regulations
Expect a handful of changes starting July 1st, from the new labor pension system, to a home delivery service of household registration documents.
Taiwan's current pension system went into effect five years ago, and will be replaced on July 1st. In the future, only workers that change jobs will be able to select the new system.Meanwhile, the high speed rail's blue and orange discounts will be eliminated and replaced by coupon, season, and summer tickets on July 1st.
The high speed rail will also be adding trains to and adjusting its schedule. Car owners can start paying their fuel surcharges at banks, credit unions, and post offices, while a new Department of Health policy will set maximum hospital and emergency room registration fees at 150 NT and 300 NT, respectively.
The National Fire Agency will also be stepping up inspections on gas containers and ban the continued use of dismantled containers. Finally, citizens can apply to have their household registration documents delivered to their homes by visiting their local Household Registration Office or applying online with proof of naturalized citizenship.
