Internet hoaxers have played on speculation around Twilight actor Taylor Lautner's sexuality to create a fake People magazine cover featuring the star coming out as a gay man. It shows a picture of the 19-year-old with text saying 'Tired of rumours, the Twilight star opens up about his decision to finally come out'. 　　People magazine insist the cover in question is 100 per cent fake and began as a ridiculous Twitter joke that went viral. The fake cover was circulated online over the holidays. Social media sites distributed it and some, it seems, were taken in. 　　Even fellow celebrities such as Def Jam's co-founder Russell Simmons were quick to tweet their congratulations. He later realised his mistake, saying, "Disappointed that people would joke about someone coming out about their sexuality. Let Taylor Lautner be whoever he wants to be. 　　" A representative for Lautner did not respond to requests for comment. It was not immediately known who's behind the hoax. (Edward Baran/Reuters)
