These Roman cats have just had some good news. One of their feline friends, Tommaso, has struck it rich. Tommaso, or "Tommasino", how he's affectionately known, is the lucky heir of ten million Euro (ten million USD). 　　The cat was left the money by his owner Assunta after her death. And that's not all. He also inherited a manor in an elegant suburb on the outskirts of Rome, two apartments in Rome and Milan, various current accounts and a piece of land in Calabria, in the south of Italy. 　　Apparently childless, the woman chose her cat as beneficiary of her belongings. Rome residents were sceptical about the cat owner's decision. 　　Liliana Carbonara, (Rome resident) "I would have never done it for a cat. Not for cats. I would have left something for the cats and the rest would have gone to people in need. I can't accept something like that. 　　" Luca Gianni (Rome resident): "Evidently her neighbours weren't very nice. At least the cat probably deserves it." Just what Tommasino is going to do with money and property is unknown. For the moment , he's keeping a low profile, avoiding all the publicity. (Mirja Mey, Reuters)
