TAKING FASHION TO A HIGHER LEVEL
Fatima Lopes took her Spring/Summer 2012 collection to new heights at Paris Fashion Week -- all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower. The Portuguese designer said showing the line at the iconic landmark was her dream. Fatima Lopes, fashion designer, said "It's the 26th show in Paris. It's the opening, and the theme of the collection was levitation, so I wanted something very high and really Eiffel Tower is top." Lopes used bright colors, an attempt at lifting spirits over fears of a global economic downturn, where the future of fashion remains uncertain. "Well I think the whole world is scared of course, that's why I think fashion has this obligation to make art and make people forget problems." Paris Fashion Week will show through October 5, with all eyes on Christian Dior, who will reveal its new designer.
