PHONE HACKING SCANDAL WIDENING
The hacking scandal continues involving London's top cops and Rupert Murdoch's media empire. One of the first journalists to go on the record and allege phone hacking at News of the World, by the name of Sean Hoare, was found dead on Monday. As of today, the police are saying that the death of the reporter is " not thought to be suspicious".
Senior British police officer John Yates has since stepped down for not carrying on the investigation on phone hacking two years ago, following his boss Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson's resignation days ago.
On the other hand, the former News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks has confirmed that she will be testifying before the members of Parliament along with her boss, media mogul Rupert Murdoch and his son James, who is an executive of News Corp.
