SETTING A TREND WITH WATERMELON
A student from Tainan's Shoufu University has become a trendsetter with his exceptional carving skills. Now, let's take you for a walk around campus to see how this one individual is spicing up the place of learning.
Take a look inside the campus of Shoufu University in Tainan, and yes, that's exactly what caught our eyes. The student's helmet is far from being conventional and instead, it is made with something that's often found on our kitchen counter.
The pig-shaped "helmet" is actually handmade from watermelon skin, after carefully designed and crafted.
And he's not the only one in this school who's up for this creative accessory, but it has become a hot trend among many students.
And who's the master behind the great skills, including the "angry-bird helmet"? His name is Bo-wei Yang, and being part of the Department of Food and Beverage, he's an expert at fruit carving.
Yang said he came up with the idea, because it can prevent direct exposure to the sun, and keep us cool during summer days.
Yang added that it's not too difficult to create watermelon "helmets", but the challenging part is finding friends who will help him eat the fruit so it doesn't go to waste.
If you want to give this idea a try, next time you go to the supermarket, pick a watermelon according to the size of your head, because size does matter in this case.
