A BATTLE OF POPULARITY
With today marking President Ma Ying-jeou's three years in power as the leader of the nation, a recent poll result has been released, which indicates that 41 percent of Taiwanese people are not satisfied with Ma's overall performance. In terms of trust, Ma only received 30 percent of support from the people. The widening wealth gap and the skyrocketing housing price are both contributing factors to Ma's declining popularity.
But regardless of the not so outstanding review, Ma is leading the 2011 presidential race, according to the survey, with 45 percent of the support, while DPP's Tsai Ing-wen has only 27 percent.Even though Tsai is trailing in the numbers, 44 percent of people did say
that they are satisfied with her accomplishment
