WILL PERNG BE TSAI'S RUNNING MATE?
It was revealed by local media yesterday that the Central Bank Governor Perng Fai-nan visited DPP Chairperson Tsai Ing-wen at her residence Thursday evening and talked for nearly one hour, leading to speculation that Tsai was probably asking him to join her ticket in the presidential race next year.
But both denied the next day that they were talking about the upcoming election, saying instead that they were simply holding a discussion on financial issues.
Tsai also said she was sorry for causing unnecessary trouble for the governor.
