IT'S TSAI VS. MA IN 2012
The final result of the DPP presidential primary was released yesterday, with Chairperson Tsai Ing-wen edging out competitor Su Tseng-chang by a narrow margin of 1.35%. And Tsai will officially challenge the incumbent President Ma Ying-jeou on behalf of DPP next year.
Tsai expressed deep gratitude toward her two rivals in the primary after the victory, saying that she will seek their advice as soon as possible and will face the challenges ahead with a humble and courageous attitude.
And Su also showed grace in defeat, calling on all party members to unite and give Tsai their full support.
Speculations regarding Tsai's potential running mate have already begin to circulate, but it's not clear at this point who will more likely be chosen in the end.
