PRESIDENT MA REGISTERS FOR REELECTION
Accompanied by young supporters, President Ma Ying-jeou has officially registered for the KMT's presidential primary on Saturday. Ma stressed that he has been working hard on improving the cross-strait relationship as well as seeking better economic growth for the nation. And he is calling for the public to give him another four years to continue his goal in bringing more benefits for the people of Taiwan.
After registering his candidacy for the KMT's presidential primaries, President Ma Ying-jeou announced his campaign slogan.
Ma wore a bright yellow tie to the KMT's headquarters as a symbol of his ambition, and asked voters to give him an opportunity to continue serving Taiwan for another four years.
Members of the KMT's youth corps accompanied Ma on Saturday to express their support for his rational reforms, and provided a stark contrast to DPP presidential candidate Tsai Ing-wen, who has also surrounded herself with youths in recent weeks.
The KMT's Central Standing Committee will officially nominate the party's presidential candidate on May 4th, and Ma is expected to announce his running mate in June at the party's National Congress.
