Taiwan's first ever Grammy nominated music group, Ten Drum, has collaborated with local dance troupes and the Kaohsiung City Chinese Orchestra to stage a new show, which represents their first attempt to start a dialogue between traditional culture and modern art. Here on CTS, let's have a look.

Resembling the night sky, the black backdrop is pulled open, revealing a group of dancers who rush to the front of the stage.

Tso's Dance Association has teamed up with other groups for a performance that combines traditional culture and modern art.

For Ten Drum, this is a rare opportunity and for several of the dancers onstage, this will be a big challenge.

With dance and music, the performance will tell of the Shao tribe who struggled to settle in the area of Sun Moon Lake.

As well, the performance utilizes special multimedia technology to evoke an aura of Avalokitesvara among the audience.

As calligraphic elements has been commonly used, the group hopes to stick closer to the topic of introspection and use ink as a tool to transcend the body and to the spiritual realm, where a fire will engulf all that is perishable and bring about serenity.

Ten Drum takes on the Taiwan's history, scenery, and culture as its creative subjects.

Hopefully the audience will get to experience a whole new visual and audio effect from this performance.
