TW RAILWAYS ADDING TRAINS TO MEET DEMAND
To accommodate the huge demand of passengers riding for the Tomb Sweeping Day, or the Ching Ming Festival, the Taiwan Railways will be adding 227 trains. The Ah Fu Express Train will also increase its service by having 16 extra trains for those traveling between Taipei and Hualien.
As the long, four-day weekend of April 2nd through the 5th is coming up, Tai Rail is adding 227 additional train services from April 1st through the 6th, including 133 train services on the eastern part of Taiwan, 94 more services on the west coast.
Tai Rail is also offering regional services at a discount. Taipei to Hualien train was NT$283, and the sale price is NT$200, Yilan to Taipei was NT$140 and now NT$100 and Yilan to Hualien tickets are now NT$100 instead of NT$143.
The cheaper tickets are limited to be picked-up at Tai Rail ticketing windows and cannot be picked up at post office or accept internet payment method.
It is reminded that those passengers wish to travel during the long holiday weekend to buy the tickets soon.
