IN MEMORIAL OF "LIN FAMILY MASSACRE"
Monday also marks the 31st anniversary of the "Lin Family Massacre," in which the mother and twin daughters of former DPP chairperson Lin Yi-hsiung were murdered for allegedly political reasons. The 69-year-old Lin attended the annual memorial service yesterday, yet declined to make any comments on the DPP's internal tensions surrounding the 2012 presidential race.
Singing the hymn and praying with everyone, former DPP chairman Lin Yi-hsiung would visit the Gikong Church in Taipei city on February 28th every year for a memorial service, since it was the place where the brutal murder happened and took lives of his mother and twin daughters 31 years ago.
Lin always joins the service with close friends and family members for the past 31 years. He urges the public to be aware of an authoritarian government so Taiwan can truly transform to a full-fledged democracy.
As former DPP chairman, he seems to have a lot of thoughts on the recent presidential primary disputes within the party but refuses to make comments.
Although rumor has it that Lin is hoped to talk Annette Lu to drop out, the DPP heavyweight remained low-key as always and talks nothing other than the memorial service.
