Emergency Response System Review
In response to Yilan County Magistrate Lin Cong-sian's criticism that the central government misinformed about people trapped on the SuHwa Highway, the Minister of the Interior Chiang Yi-hua clarified at a press conference that there's no such matter. Lin, on the other hand, withdrew his previous remark yesterday saying that the county government will review its emergency response system.
Yilan County Magistrate Lin Cong-sian visited Nanan Junior High in Nanfang Ao to see the destruction himself.
Seeing the school filled with rocks and mud, and the entire track field being burried by mud, the county government has asked the Army for assistance.
Lin responded his county government will review its emergency response system and all future water projects to raise its water and land preservation standards.
But, he changed his remarks for criticizing the central government for delaying information on drivers stuck on the SuHwa Highway, which delayed rescue efforts.

But Lin confessed the reporting system from the central government to the local government is in disarray.
His government will hold a meeting to discuss how to improve the reporting system.
