Chinese Tourist Quota to Be Raised
The cross-strait talk this time may also lead to an increase of the Chinese tourist quota in Taiwan, from the current limit of 3,000 per day to 4,000. And many local businesses have already ramped up their investments in building hotels to capitalize on the opportunity.
Taipei 101 has got to be one of the most popular sights in Taiwan, and other than visiting different sights and tasting delicious foods,
one of the reasons why some would like to visit Taiwan again is the cleanliness and comfort of the hotels.
So far, there are 3,000 visitors from China visiting Taiwan each day, and in this Chen-Jiang meeting that will take place on the 20th will soon readjust this quota into 4,000.
For many hotel owners, this is a chance to increase their supply.
Other than the usual areas, the east and west side of Taipei are also starting to build hotels to cope with this influx.
Among them, one of the prime locations has got to be Hsinyi District, where Taipei 101 is located.
Not only its the favorite among Chinese tourists, it is also the favorite of hotel owners and developers.
So far, many hotels are being built as we speak, but there are also other concerns, which is the standard on quality control.
According to the tourism industry, as the visitors increase to 4,000 each day, challenges will also increase.
Other than the fact that the quality of hotels are uneven and there is no standardized classifying system for hotels at the moment, there is a lack of tour buses to cope with this rising amount of tourists.
So in order to maintain a high-quality service, the officials must also have a well-rounded plan and regulation in order to ensure the quality of all the facilities and hotels in the tourism business.
