After four years of construction, the Criminal Investigation Bureau's newly completed Technology Building officially opened on Thursday. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the building not only represents a major step forward for Taiwan's investigative capabilities, but also attests to the government's determination to better defend public security.

With advanced technology, criminal investigation bureau's technology building officially opened. International forensic expert Dr. Henry Lee was also invited to attend the opening ceremony.

But he was swamped with questions regarding to the Sean Lien shooting incident and whether he would join the forensic work of the case.

Dr. Lee said that he only saw partial evidences but has discussed with the criminal investigation bureau about the ballistic reconstruction.

In fact, the comparison of pistols is an important part in criminal forensic investigation.

Through the high-tech device, the investigators can compare the ballistic performance and speed.

There are many guns collected by the criminal investigation bureau over the decades, including an antique pistol before the 20th century and the world's only gold plated pistol.

These new equipments are hoped to better facilitate future criminal forensic investigation work.
