Road to Redemption
A story of personal redemption. A 65-year-old man in Tainan used to be a millionaire when he was young, only to squander all his wealth later in life. Now, homeless and broke, he is determined to fight his way back to dignity.
Carrying his entire possessions in a shabby suitcase, Mr. Su checked into this homeless center in Tainan, where he has to share a little room with several people.
Such conditions are more than satisfactory for a man who just ended a long and mostly fruitless search of a shelter in southern Taiwan.
It's not that Su had never seen better days. In fact, the 65-year-old-man used to be an affluent piano technician with an accumulated wealth of over ten million NT dollars, but he frittered all that away in just a couple of years.
Eventually he lost his house, and both his wife and children left him.
But Su doesn't want his story to stop here.
After countless rejections, he finally lands a cleaning job, and he works hard to rebuild his life, believing that the homeless center will not be his final desination, but a temporary stop on his way to redemption.
