After being shut down for a whole year, the Taipei Children's Recreation Center is reopening its doors. In coordination with the Taipei International Flora Expo, it will not be charging an entrance fee from October 9th to 28th.

After being out of commission for a year, the carousel will once again be delighting the young and old alike. The ferris wheel will also resume its rotating services.

Ever since the Taipei Children's Recreation Center closed down in April of last year, children had lost a venue of fun excitement.

One of the attractions is the carousel, which has been running for 76 years, ever since the public children's amusement park was established in 1934.

Chang Hsiao-yan who was at that time a child star when she cut the ribbon is now a seasoned celebrity.

Each of the little kids with their parents in the black and white video are probably themselves parents now.

In 1959, the ferris wheel was built, and then in 1973, the go carts were added, and finally in 1975, the ticket booth was set up.

The Center, which was forcibly shut down last year, will luckily resume operations on October 9.

In coordination with the Flora Expo, the Center will reopen its doors and not charge for entrance.

While there will be no entrance fee, each attraction will charge visitors NT$20 to ride - still a low price to pay for a great and fun experience.
