Lanyang Museum Debuts
Counting down to about two months until the opening day of the Lanyang Museum, the space will allow the public to thoroughly experience how it is to live in Yilan.
Let's take a sneak preview of what you'll be seeing inside this moutain shaped museum.
Glass, metal, and stones were used to create this leaning design that sticks out of the ground. This unique building in Toucheng's Wu Shi Harbor is the new Lanyang Museum that just started operating. Visitors often stop to take pictures of the unique building.
This building that looks like the side of a hill was designed by famous architect Kris Yao. He hopes to express the feeling of something growing from the ground. Besides incorporating the environment, the museum also displays Yilan's natural and cultural aspects inside.
Children can see the natural habitat inside, while visitors can also see cultural events such as Toucheng's bouquet battle event. The museum's most unique aspect is this large fishing boat, Southern Wind 1, which was donated by a fisherman.
It recreates the fishing scene from years past, which was unique to Nanfangao. The unique movement leaves a deep impression on the children. Many parents from other counties have brought their children to visit the museum, so the children can have a deeper under
