Following the example of Chen Shu-chu, the famous philanthropist vendor, an 88-year-old man donated $1 million NT dollars a couple of months ago to support five orphaned students with their schooling. As the Father's Day is approaching, these thankful youngsters recently visited their generous benefactor in the hospital to express their gratitude.

The 88-year-old retired veteran, Grandpa Hu, donated NT$1 million, almost his life savings for over 20 years out of his simple life to support 5 orphaned teenagers' tuition.

With the Father's day approaching, five teenage students visited Grandpa Hu at the hospital to celebrate the warm day with him.

Touched by Grandpa Hu's selfless love and generosity,

these youngsters feel that he is actually another loving grandfather to them for he reached out his warm hands when help is needed the most.

One of the youngsters expressed her gratitude with tears while others wished a happy father's day to Grandpa Hu,

which is exceptionally heartwarming for him because he's been living alone all these years.

Grandpa Hu also told the young students to take care of themselves and study hard.

Back to the time when CTS reporters visited Grandpa Hu at his house in Hsin Chu,

he showed us his shabby house with only several pieces of furniture in it.

Instead of spending the money on improving his life,

Grandpa Hu gave away the money for a greater purpose.

With the gentle smile on his face, Grandpa Hu showed us that helping others truly makes one even happier.
