Extra Lucky Lychees
Taiwan's new breed of lychees, called "Lucky" lychees, can be quite filling."Lucky" lychees, a cross breed between Taiwan and Thailand's lychees, are not only extra plump in size but are extra sweet.
"Lucky" lychees are so large in size that they can be seen from across the lychee orchard.When compared side-by-side, "Lucky" lychees are more than twice the size of "Black Leaf" lychees. "Lucky" lychees are a new breed of lychees developed in Taiwan, and renowned for their size, juice, and sweetness.
The average lychee has a Brix value, which is a measurement of sweetness, of around 15.Lucky lychees, meanwhile, have a Brix value of up to 18.Lucky lychees are developed by the Council of Agriculture, and are a cross between Taiwanese and Thai lychee varieties.They are currently being promoted by the Taiping City Farmers Association.
