Adapted from an American TV comedy in early to mid-20th century, the film tells the story of Moe, Larry and Curly, who tried to save their childhood orphanage, inadvertently stumble into a murder plot and wind up starring in a reality TV show. Strangely though, the slapstick humor did attract a few female audiences, who made up 42 percent of the audience. Horror flick, 'The Cabin in the Woods' opened in third place with 14.9 million US dollars. Starred by Thor star Chris Hemsworth, the R-rated flick revolves around a group of college students who were terrorized while vacationing at a remote cabin. 'The Cabin in the Woods' had a well-received premiere and a launch on Friday the 13th seemed added the heat. However, despite a good review, the flick did not generate a huge buzz as expected, though there have been almost no major fright flicks since early January. Another new release that enters the top ten chart was 'Lockout,' which opened a week 6.25 million US dollars. However, the flick is far off from all recent Luc Besson productions including 'Colombiana' at 10.4 million and 'Transporter 3' at 12.1 million. Starred by Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace, the action film tells the story of an wrongly convicted ex-CIA agent, who was given a chance to regain freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates. The actioner received a B- cinemascore from its audiences.
