PHILIPPINES QUAKE KILLED AT LEAST 15
15 people have been confirmed dead after a 6.7 magnitude earthquake rocked the central region off the Philippines island of Negros. At least 29 people are still missing at this point.
Children were in tears and fears as they wait for their parents outside school, following a deadly 6.7 magnitude earthquake that hit the region, 70 km north of Dumaguete city on Negros Island yesterday. Government offices and schools were shut down, while at least 40 aftershocks were recorded after the quake.
Search and rescue operations are in full effect in areas where buildings and houses have collapsed. The Philippines is situated in the Pacific Ring of Fire and is prone to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
