POLICE DISPERSE SUPER BOWL FANS
Police in full riot gear had to disperse an unruly mob of students at the University of Massachusetts campus after the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Angry about the New England Patriots loss to the New York Giants in the Superbowl, the crowd of about 1,500 students gathered on one of the school's main plazas. Police hurled smoke and flash grenades into the crowd after the students refused to leave.
Although a fist fights broke out in the crowd, there were no serious injuries or property damage reported, according to a spokesman for school. Fourteen people were arrested, 13 of which were students. This was the second time the Patriots have lost to the Giants in four years. (Deborah Gembara/ Reuters)
