"THE WHISTLEBLOWER" OUT IN TW 12/2
Amid a series of holiday movies for families and kids, Academy Award winning actress Rachel Weisz is presenting her latest film, "The Whistleblower", which is not about happy family reunions, but about a U.N. peacekeeping police officer in post-war Bosnia, who tries to unveil the corruption and sex trade that is covered up by other U.N. contractors.
The movie is inspired by the true story of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska cop that ended up blowing the whistle on what was to be one of the greatest cover-ups in the history of the United Nations.
When Kathy, played by Weisz, began investigating the internal corruption involvement of her fellow police forces and internationals in the sex-trafficking ring, she realized that the situation was untenable, as she becomes a threat to the higher ups in the U.N. The film is set to be released this Friday in Taiwan cinemas.
