CRAIG TAKES ON HOLLYWOOD REMAKE
The cast and crew of the upcoming film "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". At a news conference in Stockholm they spoke about the Hollywood adaptation of the popular book by Swedish author Stieg Larsson.
Director David Fincher says it was only fitting to film part of the movie in Sweden.
David Fincher: "This is the world that he was talking about and it made sense that that's what it should look like."
The thriller has British actor Daniel Craig in the lead as investigative reporter Mikael Blomkvist, and American actress Rooney Mara at his side as computer hacker Lisbeth Salander -- a role she thoroughly enjoyed.
Roony Mara: "Just the whole experience was actually quite fun. I mean it was very intense but it was always, strangely, fun."
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is the first of three novels by Larsson, but Fincher says there are no plans as yet for a sequel.
David Fincher:"I don't think it's really up to us. I mean it's really more about whether or not people like the first one right? They don't really make sequels to movies just because they were good."
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" opens in Sweden and the United States on December 21, the UK on December 26, and globally in early 2012. (Elly Park/ Reuters)
