STARS SPEAK OUT OVER RIOT
British actor Daniel Craig who is promoting his latest sci-fi action flick "Cowboys and Aliens" in London, talks about the violence across the UK cities,
"I mean the fact that it's not just -- in one pocket of London, it's all over London. It's in Manchester and it's in Birmingham now," Craig said. "It's not just looting, I mean it's -- that which is that part of it, which is awful and the fact that people are getting their livelihoods taken away from them -- there's a deeper issue here and I -- it needs to be found out what it is."
Actor Harrison Ford who is also attending the UK premiere of the film that's set in the 19th century of New Mexico, expresses his thoughts over the event.
"I'm sad to see it, sad to see the victims of it, sad to see -- that people are involved in this kind of behaviour."
Film director Jon Favreau speaks about what he saw upon arriving in the cities of destruction.
"It was very striking images as we landed here. I remember we were bouncing from city to city. We landed and of course Daniel is from here, so he was able to give us the context. This isn't something that is a set of images you see often I think."
Other celebrities are reaching out to their fans in London following the unrest,Teenage sensation Justin Bieber tweeted "WHOAH...been out of the loop all day. to all the people of the UK I hope you are ok. my prayers go out to you and the amazing people there."
Reality star Kelly Osbourne tweeted that it took her hours trying to locate her friends in London, while British chef Jamie Oliver is [6]feeling it firsthand. Referring to his restaurant in Birmingham, he tweeted,"sadly... got smashed up windows all gone whole area closed, can't open, staff and customers all safe!! thankfully jox".
British singer Jessie J, who is known for her "Price Tag" hit, wrote, "These riots are not cool." "This is NOT how to gain respect. This is NOT how to get justice." "Am I in a film or real life?!"
"Shaun of the Dead" actor Simon Pegg, tweeted, "I've lived in London for 18 years and never seen anything like it. Truly disturbing. nice of Cameron to come back to the Con/Dem Nation," referring to Prime Minister David Cameron.
Actress Kristen Stewart who is also in London to shoot her latest film, Snow White and the Huntsman, is reported to be under the care of police officers along with her Australian co-star, Chris Hemsworth. The shooting has temporarily come to a standstill to ensure the safety of the crew. Charlize Theron on the other hand, has not arrived in the UK yet.
