AS BONNIE AND CLYDE IN "CRIMINAL"
In pop singer Britney Spears' lastest music video, "Criminal", which is the fourth single from her seventh studio album, titled "Femme Fatale", Spears plays a woman who falls in love with a bad boy. The idea to incorporate Spears' real-life boyfriend, agent Jason Trawick as the convict in the video, originated from the artist herself.
However, the robbery and shooting scene in the music video, which was filmed in Stoke Newington of London while Spears was in town to promote her "Femme Fatale" tour, was criticized by UK politicians for glamorizing gangs, especially in light of the UK riots that occurred in August.
In response, Spears' reps said, "the video is a fantasy story featuring Britney's boyfriend, Jason Trawick, which literally plays out the lyrics of a song written three years before the riots ever happened".
Besides going strong with her boyfriend of more than a year, the 29-year-old artist is set to kick off her tour next Thursday in England, including shows in London and Manchester.
