GIVING NEW LIFE TO OLD RHYMES
In an effort to revive Taiwan's traditional nursery rhymes, the Council of Cultural Affairs has invited the famous folk song writer, Liu Fu-chu, to recompose the tunes. With his artistic flair, the new album is set to entertain the young and the old.
With a catchy rhythm and fun lyrics, this rhyme,
This rhyme was written by Liu Fu-chu, who is known by the local Taiwanese as the king of nursery rhymes.
For Liu Fu-chu, Changhua County has always been the inspiration for his works and he has even incorporated his own life into one of his works.
Liu's talents range all the way from hymns to nursery rhymes and embody all kinds of topics about Taiwan's local culture.
Every rhyme contains not only humor but also insight, and all were once recited by kids in the past.
Nursery rhymes in the past were mostly composed of simple instruments and speech and singing.
Now with the incorporation of multiple musical instruments and elements, nursery rhymes have taken on a new form.
Through the performance of Liu Fu-chu's readapted work, his rhymes will pass on the Fujianese culture and offer a nostalgic outlet, while bringing back rich memories for the elder and mid-life citizens.
